About the Journeys

The Word of God is one of the greatest gifts we have been given. Learning how to properly study it is one of the greatest endeavors we can undertake. The Bible Study Journeys were created to assist people of all ages in learning to systematically and comprehensively study the Bible. Our first series, Jesus Journey, focuses on the four Gospels. It has been broken down into age groups with activities appropriate for the typical reading and writing skills of that group. The Journeys are all created with the intent of encouraging the student to dive further into the text, without in any way leading them to conclusions.  Each Journey can be used independently, in a small group, or as a family study.

About Us

Jason is a Bible scholar, Pastor, and former missionary to Central America.  He has served in active ministry for 18 years.  He has ministered in hundreds of churches across the United States as an evangelist, planted 5 churches in Central and North America, and taught extensive Ministerial Training courses throughout Central America.  He is currently a Pastor and a Writer.

Elaine is a certified elementary school teacher with additional background in Speech and Language Pathology.  The daughter of a Pastor, she has spent more than 20 years working in children’s and youth ministry in addition to filling a variety of roles in music, outreach, and sign language interpreting.  She currently serves with her husband in their local congregation.

A Note from the Authors

Nothing will ever replace the necessity of reading the Word of God. The Bible as a divinely inspired volume serves as not only the foundation of the Christian faith but as the basis of common morality and civil law for millennia. The effects of Scripture upon society are evident across all barriers of distance, time, race and class. For there to be a healthy Christian or a strong moral society, knowledge of Biblical precepts is paramount.

To establish an attitude of reverence of and love for Scripture at as early an age as possible is the essential companion with a reverence of and love for Christ necessary for maintaining a meaningful relationship with God. Holding to God’s Word with one hand and Jesus Christ with the other balances an individual Christian and prepares them for success in their spiritual journey. Cementing these precepts early in life can mean the difference between a stable Christian and one who will suffer from a chronic crisis of faith. Reading the Word of God is essential. Developing the habit of studying the Bible is equally so. To have the Words in our heart is necessary but to understand what we have read is critical. Such understanding comes only through reading what is written and systematically gaining understanding. A love for the Word increases a hunger for the Word. A hunger for the Word increases a desire to understand the Word. Increased understanding leads to increased love and the cycle continues for a lifetime.

The purpose of Bible Study Journeys is to provide aids in fostering a love for the Bible in a way that increases hunger for the Word through tools that help in gaining understanding thereof. The Jesus Journey endeavors to do this through a complete review of the four Gospels accompanied by thought provoking exercises designed, not to lead the student to conclusions, but to encourage prayerful insight into the Word of God through basic questions and the encouragement of direct relationship with the One who inspired the Book – our Father and Lord Jesus Christ.
